Discharge – Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing (Clay Records, 1982)

Hardcore Punk is an essential part of the sound of Thrash Metal, and this album has been especially influential.

Discharge formed in Stoke-on-Trent in the UK in 1977. To begin with they were heavily influenced by the original UK Punk movement (Sex Pistols, The Clash etc.), but after early lineup changes their sound got faster and more intense. Their songs have been covered by Metallica, Anthrax and Sepultura (among many, many more bands from different genres).

My personal faves from this album are Cries Of Help, The Nightmare Continues, and Protest And Survive.
